Causes of PLN’s Power Outage in Sumatra

State electricity company PLN is investigating the reason for power disturbances in Sumatra. The island still awaits the completion of the Aceh-Lampung high-voltage power line.

OVER a week after the total power blackout in Sumatra, state electricity company PLN has yet to confirm the main reason for the outage. PLN and the Directorate-General of Electricity at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources are still investigating the root cause of the widespread blackout that plunged most of Sumatra into darkness. “The technical team is analyzing and evaluating the reason for the disturbance,” said Agus C
