A new tarsier species has been named after an Indonesian researcher, in honor of his 42 years of devoted service.

JATNA Supriatna never imagined that his name would be immortalized as the name of a tarsier species: Tarsius supriatnai. The expert in conservation biology from the University of Indonesia found out about the naming of the newly discovered species at a meeting with a colleague from the Primate Specialist Group at the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) in Hawaii, USA, last year.
