Several provinces are using refuse-derived fuel (RDF) technology as an alternative solution to reduce trash. Some see it as a false promise of a solution.
TWO basins slated to become trash landfills appear to be in a state of neglect. Tarpaulins lining the sides are in tatters and the base of the landfill area is covered with weeds.
