A WEEK before Christmas Mass, Paulus Uran’s anxiety reached a peak. His concerns as the caretaker of the Saint Peter’s Church in Rempang Island proved valid when a conflict erupted again between the residents of Sembulang Hulu village and workers from Makmur Elok Graha (MEG)—the developer behind the Rempang Eco-City national strategic project (PSN)—on the evening of Tuesday, December 17, 2024.
