The person most keen to initiate and realize the North Sumatra food estate program is Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, who currently serves as Chair of the National Economic Council. Since he was appointed as Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, he has been traveling to his home province to monitor the progress of the food estate development.
