Hog deer and pigs are actually not that hard to distinguish between. Hog deer have tusks that extend in front of their eyes And whilst pigs like to scavenge for roots in the ground, hog deer prefer fruit and beatles. It is not surprising that this creature is referred to as a hog `deer', because its digestive system is similar to that of deer or sheep. Outside of the Sulawesi forests, this creature is not found anywhere else in the world
