I FIRST met Fikri Jufri one evening in 1964, entirely by chance. We happened to be visiting a house on Jalan Solo, Jakarta.

With Rendra, I had stopped by that house several times. It was where Wim Nirahua lived. Wim was an artist and a member of cultural organization Lekra, whose work was highly poetic—his illustrations graced the cover of Sahabat, a poetry collection by Agam Wispi.
