Peril in Papua

THE results of a recent Integrated Bio-Behavioral Surveillance (IBBS) study conducted by the Health Department, national and local AIDS commissions, and the Central Bureau of Statistics indicate that HIV prevalence among the population in Papua is 2.4 percent higher than the average 0.2 percent among populations in other areas of Indonesia. The report also said that the disease has spread to all parts of Papua.
