Head of both National Disaster Mitigation Agency and National Covid-19 Response Task Force Lt. Gen. Suharyanto explains the current disaster trend in Indonesia and preemptive efforts his agency has initiated in case Covid-19 cases peak in February as predicted.

GRAPPLING with disasters and the pandemic is not new to Lt. Gen. Suharyanto. Before he was appointed Chief of National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) as well as of Covid-19 Task Force on November 17, 2021, as the commander of the East Java military region command V/Brawijaya, he was actively involved in response initiatives to various disasters including the pandemic in that province.
