EXTREME weather has hit much of Indonesia. Heavy rainfall, tornadoes, floods, and landslides have occurred in various regions. The National Disaster Mitigation Agency’s (BNPB) disaster website recorded 12 extreme weather-related disaster events across several areas, from Cilacap in Central Java, to North Tapanuli in North Sumatra.
