LAST week, Jakarta saw the opening of two new luxury restaurants. Outstandingly, even though they are representing two different cultural concepts, the two restaurants are adjoined like two good neighbors.

Yes, Shanghai Blue Batavia 1920 is located right next to Samarra which serves Middle Eastern specialties. Both were officially opened in late August. No less than the Governor of Jakarta, Sutiyoso, was present at the opening.
