Two Journalists Jailed on Defamation Charges

Charged with defaming, two journalists have been sentenced to nine months in prison. The virdict is considered in contrast to the presidents commitment.

Last Wednesday, journalist Darwin Rusli Nur could not hide his shock at being sentenced to nine months in prison on defamation charges. The verdict culminates an act of vengeance from Alzier (Thabrani), said Darwin Nur, who is the chief editor of the Koridor tabloid in Sumatra.
