SCORES of trucks loaded with earth could be seen going back and forth Mandiodo village in North Konawe, Southeast Sulawesi, on Friday, March 25. The trucks headed towards warehouses, south of the village, filled with piles of mineral-rich ore. “There are loads every day. They transport the ore from nickel mines in the hills,” said Effendy Gafur, a local villager.
