Recently, PT Asuransi Tugu Indo was sued for defaulting on payment of a Rp3.5 billion insurance claim. Just one of an increasing being processed through the commercial court.

It seems filing insurance claims at the commercial court is becoming a popular pastime. In a recent case, PT Bumijaya Tanjung filed a Rp3.5 billion insurance claim against PT Asuransi Tugu Indo, at the commercial court of the Central Jakarta District Court. Fortunately for Tugu Indo, the council of judges rejected Bumijaya’s claim. Otherwise, PT Asuransi Tugu Indo may well have been declared bankrupt.
