Agriculture Ministry Officials Collected Money for Syahrul Yasin Limpo

Agriculture Ministry high-ranking officials routinely took up collections to raise money for Syahrul Yasin Limpo from 2020 to 2023. They often used the treasurer’s cash account.

THE official trip of then Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo to Brazil had officials of the Directorate-General of Food Crops at the Ministry of Agriculture scrambling for money in May 2022. They were looking for a quick way to get Rp300 million (around US$20,600) to replace the treasurer’s cash account. Previously, they had borrowed from the treasurer to finance Syahrul’s expenses abroad.
