Forgers are now able to copy the high-tech Rp100,000 note. Authorities don't seem to know how they managed it.

While counterfeiting banknotes has always been a problem, authorities are alarmed that they have now seen fakes of the Rp100,000 Soekarno-Hatta banknotes made from a high-technology polymer thought to be far more difficult to reproduce than traditional paper currency.

Last week, police apprehended a group of counterfeiters at Cipulir, Kebayoran Lama in South Jakarta. The man accused of masterminding the operation, Dadang Ruhiyat, confessed
