Aglow for Amien Rais

Regarding the poll in TEMPO’s November 13, 2000 edition, in which almost 68 percent of those polled agreed that Amien Rais must also step down if Gus Dur does so, I would like to take this opportunity to make the following comments.

Amien Rais was the man who came up with the idea of making Gus Dur president. But history records that Rais concocted this idea and supported the Central Axis power after the general election was held—PDI
