The Forgotten Balinese Hero

MANY are not aware that there are two Balinese freedom fighters who have received the title of National Hero. Aside from Lieutenant-Colonel I Gusti Ngurah Rai, there is another National Hero who also came from Bali: I Gusti Ketut Djelantik. While Ngurah Rai fought the Dutch colonialists in a struggle that culminated in the Puputan Margarana on November 20, 1946, Djelantik fought in the earlier war of Jagaraga (1848).
