Controversial Criminal Codes Continue

The government keeps controversial articles in the Criminal Code (KUHP) draft after being disseminated to the general public. This is a threat to democracy.

IN a meeting with Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Mahfud Md. at his office on Thursday, November 17, Edward Omar Sharif Hiariej reported on the public discussion of the draft of Criminal Code (RKUHP). The deputy minister of justice and human rights told his host that he has gathered aspirations from mass organizations, students, and academics during the three months of the draft’s public exposure.
