The name Winfried Simatupang has suddenly become central in the Buloggate II scandal that has implicated Akbar Tandjung ever since he returned Rp40 billion to the Attorney Generals Office (AGO). Despite his earlier claim to investigators that he had used the money to purchase and distribute nine basic commodities to the poor, he now states that, in fact, only Rp7 billion was used for this, with the rest having now been returned.
