House Passes Domestic Workers Protection Law

The Domestic Workers Protection Bill is passed after 22 years of deliberation. It needs implementing regulations.

THE House of Representatives (DPR) passed the Domestic Workers Protection Law (UU PPRT) during a plenary session on Tuesday, April 21, 2026. Deliberations on the regulation had lasted 22 years.

“May this regulation become a guiding light that protects all domestic workers,” said House Legislative Body Chair Bob Hasan in Senayan, Jakarta. The Legislative Body drafted the law in 12 chapters and 37 articles.
