VICE President Jusuf Kalla’s criticism of the banking sector, which prefers to invest in Bank Indonesia Certificates (SBIs) instead of in the business sector, may be accurate. He was also right when he reprimanded banks for treating small- and medium-sized businesses like stepchildren. Data from Bank Indonesia shows that there is truth in Kalla’s criticisms.
