In the run-up to the Idul Fitri holidays, we are disturbed by a recurring problem that happens virtually every year on the Java North Coast Road, known as Pantura. This comprises gaping holes up to 30 centimeters across, a damaged road surface and the resulting long lines of traffic. This annual serious damage shows how short our memories can be on the suffering and losses caused to road users.
