A sexual harassment victim in Mataram was convicted guilty and put to jail. The Supreme Court’s ruling has gotten even more worrisome.

The Supreme Court sentenced Baiq Nuril Manun to six months in prison and a fine of Rp500 million. This verdict must be rectified immediately through a review mechanism. Nuril is a victim of sexual harassment who fought for justice to uphold her dignity. Punishing the high school teacher from Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara, is the same as repelling the Indonesian women’s movement.
