It will be difficult for the extradition treaty signed by Indonesia and Singapore to be used against those who embezzled BLBI funds. It seems hasty and lacking in transparency.
IT is too early to celebrate the extradition treaty between Indonesia and Singapore that was signed on Tuesday, January 25. The agreement signed in Bintan, Riau Islands, witnessed by President Joko Widodo and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, is only the first step in bringing home criminals – including embezzlers – from Singapore.
