Because of a new lawsuit, the government is facing the threat of losing a number of state assets. This is the result of land hoodlums and reckless management.
THE dispute over land belonging to Pertamina in Jalan Pemuda, East Jakarta, is an example of the government’s lack of seriousness in managing state assets.
The land owned by Pertamina there has faced two lawsuits. The first was brought by a person claiming to be an heir, and ended with Pertamina losing in 2003 at the Supreme Court. In that case, the Supreme Court asked the state oil company to pay compensation.
