The purchase of Jembatan Nusantara shares by ASDP triggers a polemic. This is the result of weak oversight by the state-owned enterprises ministry.

THE disarray over the acquisition by ASDP Indonesia Ferry of Jembatan Nusantara for Rp1.2 trillion would not have happened if the state-owned enterprises (SOEs) ministry had been more thorough with its oversight. This huge corporate action by an inter-island transport company would not have been possible without permission from the ministry as the majority stakeholder.
