THE violence by police officers when dispersing a demonstration by people from Air Bangis village, West Pasaman at West Sumatra’s Grand Mosque once again proves the intervention of the police in agrarian conflicts. The repressive action by dozens of officers inside the mosque was an assault on the people’s right to peaceful freedom of expression.
