The smuggling of luxury cars into Indonesia is nothing new. More than a hundred cars whose ownership is not clear are stored in the customs warehouse at Tanjung Priok port, Jakarta. It's the same story at the Surabaya police station and customs warehouse. But the complaint from the customs officers is always the same: the smugglers are never caught. "They seem to have strong backing from important people," they say.
