Indonesia’s coral reefs are damaged. Better late than never, the government is campaigning for their rehabilitation and rescue.

Two skinny, curly-haired, swarthy youths carry a roll of yellow compressor hose, part of an explosive device used for "fishing". No trace of anger betrays their expressions. Remarkable, since together with 22 other "fishermen", they were caught red-handed fishing with explosives by Komodo National Park’s Task Force for the Environment in Komodo Island’s waters earlier this month.
