IBRA’s handling of account 519 has been chaotic. The account was opened in the first place so as to have somewhere to deposit premiums from the bank guarantee program, but IBRA has been using it for its operational expenses as well as to provide liquidity assistance.

WHO has the right to provide banks with liquidity assistance? In theory, only the government has this authority but in practice, it’s a different situation as this is what the Indonesian Bank Restructuring Agency (IBRA) has been doing.
