Hyperion, the tallest tree on earth, is not alone. Its arrogance is the fruit of fantasy.
THIS 800-year-old redwood tree does not know the meaning of ‘ancient’. Nor does it care about ‘height’. Named ‘Hyperion’, it soars almost 116 meters high, far higher than the State of Liberty. Protected in an area of forest on the Californian coast, it has no rival: it is the tallest Sequoia sempervirens on the face of the earth. The public cannot get near it.
