Soccer is the globalization of capital and internationalization of teamwork. Boundaries of nation, citizenship and religion are no longer relevant. Money is the reformer that increasingly often shifts previously revered values.
THERE is a soccer team that was never well known, but 30 years later its goalkeeper became famous over the entire world.
This is a story from Algiers in the 1920s, when Algeria was still under French colonial rule.
The team the goalkeeper played for was known as RUA, short for Racing Universitaire Algérios. In 1928, he was short, an orphan from a poor family. He was called ‘Bébert’. His real name was Albert Camus
