Some Russian once bitterly regaled his own country: "Our constitution is absolutism moderated by assassination". He was right and wrong at the same time. He was wrong because assassination cannot moderate anything, let alone any rule. But he is right because only by assassinating absolute rulers can people show that there has never been any absolute in this world. Even with God's support.
