Sapardi Djoko Damono's poetry is often inviting due to its narrative form, which in fact shrouds the complexity of his poems. In his poetry, Sapardi consistently disrupts the narrative using the 'antinarrative': juxtapositions, repetitions, dissonances (of sound and imagery), and so on.
