Since 2020, nearly 9,000 teachers in 28 provinces have completed the Guru Penggerak (Transformational Teachers) Program. Here are the stories of five such motivating teachers as chosen by Tempo.
THE problem of education in Indonesia is not a lack of teachers. Last year, the teacher-student ratio was 1:17, an ideal ratio according to Government Regulation No. 74 of 2008, which states that a good ratio is one teacher for every 15 to 20 students.
