Astra Seeking Rp1.4 trillion

Astra International will issue new shares of Rp1,000 denomination in mid-January next year. This price, announced last Wednesday, conforms to the price range Astra made public some time ago (Rp500 – Rp2,000). Anybody holding 13 old shares will be entitled to buy seven new shares. The company expects to secure Rp1.4 trillion (US$158 million) from these new shares.
