Danareksa Teeters on the Edge
Once again, PT Danareksa is threatened with bank-ruptcy. The government-owned financial institution failed to repay a loan of US$176 million (Rp1.6 trillion) that fell due last January. This is Danareksas old debt with several foreign banks, that ought to have been repaid two years ago. Fortunately, the creditors were then prepared to extend the repayment period to 2002.
