Oil Subsidy to be Withdrawn
Fuel subsidies have just a year left to run. Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Purnomo Yusgiantoro, last week confirmed that the price subsidies on fuel oils, apart from kerosene, would be done away with in 2003. This is line with the governments plan to reduce subsidies by 39 percent next year, to only Rp25.3 trillion.
