A Dispute over a Soldier’s Land
Pertamina reports suspected document falsification for land in Jalan Pemuda, East Jakarta, to the police, accusing a land mafia of being behind it. It is a disputed asset since the days of Sukarno’s Old Order era.

THE 1.6 hectares of land in question is located along Jalan Pemuda, East Jakarta. Dozens of official residences, a gas station, and a maritime training center are found there. Pertamina has lost twice in court because of a land ownership lawsuit by some people claiming to have inherited the land. The state company fought back and accused a land mafia of being behind the dispute which began in 1987.
