Corruption, an Acute Sickness

THE late Baharuddin Lopa, a former Attorney General, once said: “Corruption in Indonesia is difficult to eliminate because the Indonesian people do not believe that corruption can be eradicated.” Indonesia has three pillars of law enforcement expected to function well, especially in eradicating corruption, namely the police, the prosecutor’s office, and the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
