THE de-escalation of the Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia has given rise to optimism that the economy will recover more quickly. Markets, small shops, restaurants, and malls are starting to operate normally in accordance to the relaxation in mobility restriction. Household consumption, one of the main engines for economic growth, is rising.

That optimism is reflected in the consumer confidence index which has been in its highest level since March
