Becoming a Fan of Bans
To achieve downstreaming, the government has another policy option. Instead of imposing export bans, the government could implement a tax on raw mineral exports.

THE Indonesian government is increasingly aggressive in implementing export bans on raw mineral products. Two commodities, bauxite and copper concentrates, will be put on the export embargo list effective from June 2023.
