Recently I was listening to a program on the radio in Australia about Aboriginal songlines, following an elder as he wandered the land and sang the songs of the ancestral spirit of his people. This is such an incredibly rich creative world, holding song, country, nature, humans, and spirits together as one. The ancestral spirit dreams and sings up the world, moving between the ancestral creature and ancestral human. As I listened, I marveled at this totally different way of seeing and being in the world, which I can only faintly glimpse.
