Marijuana’s legalization is believed to have the ability to boost Thailand’s revenues from the health and tourism sectors. The government is preparing industry-scale plantations.
THOUSANDS of cannabis plants in polybags were lined up in the Orchid Garden in San Sai District, Chiang Mai Province, Thailand, on Tuesday, July 5. Some of these 1.5-meter high cannabis plants had bamboo supports. The area, owned by Maejo University, is claimed to be Asia’s first industry-scale medical marijuana plantation.
