RIOTS erupted in Besum village, Namblong District, Jayapura Regency, Papua. One resident was killed in a fight with a member of the Indonesian Military, prompting villagers to set fire to houses and offices and vandalize cars and motorcycles in the early hours of January 1, 2024.
