Ups and Downs over Olefin Refinery

Pertamina finally selected winners of the bid for the TPPI olefin refinery megaproject after months of uncertainty. It leaves behind embers of a dispute between the boards of commissioners and the directors over alleged irregularities in the project planning.

THE long awaited letter by tender participants for the construction project design of Trans-Pacific Petrochemical Indotama’s (TPPI) olefin refinery in Tuban, East Java, was finally issued by Kilang Pertamina Internasional (KPI) on Monday, 6 September. The Pertamina subsidiary, which oversees TPPI, appointed two bidders as winners of the tender.

The bid winners are the joint operation Hyundai Engineering Co Ltd-Rekayasa Industri-Enviromate
