We Cannot Allow Sipadan-Ligitan to Recur

Poaching produce in the North Natuna Sea is not only triggered by economic need. THE Natuna waters are currently a ‘hot spot’ for fishery poaching cases by foreign vessels. In 2021, the marine affairs and fisheries ministry apprehended 46 foreign fishing vessels. A total of 25 ships were caught in Natuna. A year before, of 53 foreign vessels were arrested, 23 were in Natuna.
