FLASH floods struck Jakarta and its surrounding areas in the first week of March. In Bekasi, West Java, the city was paralyzed as floodwaters reached up to three meters. In Jakarta, while not the worst incident in history, the flooding inundated 117 neighborhood units, with water levels ranging from 1.2 meters to four meters near the Ciliwung River.
