IT took two years for investigators of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to bring in Rahmat Effendi. KPK investigators had detected that this Mayor of Bekasi had been received bribes since 2019. In addition to receiving reports from the public, investigators found that Rahmat’s amount of personal wealth was not in line with his salary profile as a regional government official.
